Unitop Chemicals started arbitration against promoters of Rossari Biotech, the company which had acquired Unitop in 2021. The Unitop shareholders have alleged that Rossari Biotech has breached the agreement for acquiring 100% stake in Unitop Chemicals. In 2021, Rossari Biotech had agreed to acquire 100% stake in Unitop in 3 tranches for ₹415 crore. However, Rossari have acquired 80% stake in Unitop in two tranches and refused to acquire the remaining 20% stake worth ₹83 crore, they allege. On 2 June 2021, a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) was executed between the two parties, under which Rossari Biotech would purchase the shares in Unitop in three tranches for an aggregate consideration of ₹ 415 crore.

Venezuela's government on Thursday ordered the local U.N. office on human rights to suspend operations and gave its staff 72 hours to leave, accusing the office of promoting opposition to the South American country. Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil announced the decision at a news conference in Caracas, the capital. Gil's announcement came on the heels of the detention of human rights attorney Rocio San Miguel, which set off a wave of criticism inside and outside the South American country. Gil said the office has been used by the international community «to maintain a discourse» against Venezuela.

TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty on Thursday announced her resignation from the post. Maharashtra government has decided to sell sand online on a «no profit no loss» basis, a move that will enable people to buy the key construction material at a cheaper rate and curb illegal sand mining, revenue minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said. During the state cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Vikhe Patil proposed changes in the sand mining policy in the state. Accordingly, it was decided to sell sand online on a «no profit no loss» basis, Vikhe Patil said after the cabinet meeting. The change in the policy will also help curb illegal mining of sand, its transportation and storage, he said.

Haldwani Civil Court has issued orders to confiscate the property of nine miscreants, including Abdul Malik and his son, the alleged mastermind of the violence that broke out in Banbhoolpura town of Haldwani area following the demolition of an allegedly «illegal structure» as part of an anti-encroachment drive on February 8. The court has permitted the police to take action against all the accused under sections 82, and 83 of CrPC. Earlier on Tuesday, the civil court issued non-bailable warrants against all nine accused.

BSNL’s employees union wants to utilise the network of Vodafone Idea (Vi) for offering 4G services and has requested the government to take immediate action on the matter. The state-run firm’s 4G network is to be deployed by TCS in a phased manner and a few thousand sites are already up and running in a few circles. But since the network is not present pan-India, the telco has been losing customers. P Abhimanyu, General Secretary, BSNL employee’s union, said government of India is Vi’s largest shareholder with a 33.1% stake and it should utilise its status as the largest shareholder to ensure that BSNL is allowed to immediately provide 4G service to its customers by utilising the 4G network of Vi. “This will only by a temporary measure, till BSNL’s 4G network is commissioned by the TCS,” Abhimanyu said in a letter to Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
