Uttarakhand government on Saturday ordered for a magisterial probe into the February 8 incident of violence in Haldwani's Banbhoolpura area. The order was issued by the chief secretary Radha Raturi. Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has cautioned the taxpayers against fake summons sent by some fraudsters. It said that in case taxpayers receive any summons, they must verify the authenticity from the official website of the CBIC. It also asked taxpayers to inform the jurisdiction office immediately in case they receive such notices. The advisory was issued after the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), an investigation arm of the CBIC noticed that some individuals are sending fake summons to the taxpayers who may or may not be under investigation by the DGGI.
