Uttar Pradesh embarked on a quest to find a lost love from his past, ultimately reuniting with her in Surat. Mahendra Singh's journey, which began with his mysterious disappearance, ended with a heartwarming reunion that defied conventional expectations.
Mahendra Singh, a resident of Mubarakpur village in Kasganj district, went missing on August 14, shortly after selling his 4 bigha land for Rs 21.42 lakh. He lived with his wife and two brothers, along with their families, in the same village and was the father of a married daughter.
The intriguing twist in Singh's story lies in a relationship he had 20 years ago with a married woman from his village.
Unfortunately, their love could only flourish for a few months before the woman relocated to Surat with her husband. Over time, she separated from her husband and began living with her brother in Surat.
Last week, the police detained a mediator involved in the land deal, which eventually led them to contact Mahendra Singh. It turned out that Singh had sold his agricultural land and traveled to Surat, all without informing his family.
Concerned about his safety and fearing possible kidnapping for ransom, his family filed a missing person's report with the police.
Ramprakash Gautam, the Station House Officer of Kotwali Dholna police, shared, «Last month, we received a missing complaint of a senior citizen. A special team was tasked to find him. The man had gone to Surat and convinced his old lover to come back home.
