Delhi assembly elections began on Saturday, determining whether the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will secure a third consecutive full term in power or if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will end its 27-year absence from the capital's government.

The Congress is hoping to make some gains after failing to win any seats in the last two elections.
Several exit polls had suggested the BJP had an edge over the AAP, which has been in power in Delhi since 2015. In response, AAP leaders had accused the BJP of trying to create a favorable narrative through exit polls, while allegedly attempting to poach AAP candidates with potential victory in sight.
The BJP had demanded that AAP retract its accusations and issue an apology, threatening legal action if not.
Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Greater Kailash seat, Saurabh Bharadwaj offered prayers at the Kalkaji temple ahead of Delhi election results and said, «Whatever happens, now it is in the hands of the mother goddess.»
