Considered a bastion of AAP, the constituency evolved into a three-way competition with AIMIM's entry through Shifa Ur Rehman in 2025. Asaduddin Owaisi's campaign support strengthened Rehman's position in Muslim-majority areas. The primary contenders for the seat include BJP's Manish Chaudhary, AAP's Amanatullah Khan, INC's Ariba Khan, and AIMIM's Shifa Ur Rehman Khan.

Situated in South East Delhi district near the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border, Okhla is one of Delhi's 70 assembly constituencies under the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. These densely populated regions include Zakir Nagar, Joga Bai, Batla House, Abul Fazal Enclave, Noor Nagar, Gaffar Manzil, Haji Colony, Okhla Vihar and Shaheen Bagh. The recent polls on February 5 witnessed a 54.96 percent voter turnout in the constituency.
What happened in previous elections
The 2020 polls showcased Khan's electoral prowess when he defeated BJP's Braham Singh with a substantial lead of 71,827 votes. The seat previously belonged to the Indian National Congress (INC), under Asif Mohd Khan's leadership in 2013.
