Dushyant Arora took to X to explain what happened to his partner's parents, both of whom are heart patients. The elderly couple was set to fly to Newark, New Jersey, on Wednesday. Arora stated that when they attempted to check in the previous night, they discovered that Air India had «unilaterally» changed their tickets.
Arora said that his partner’s parents were put on different flights. «One flight will depart on one day and the second on another,» he claimed, adding that Air India had modified the father's destination to New York rather than Newark. The mother's destination remained Newark.
Arora stated that the couple learned about the modifications to their flights only when they attempted to check in.
No one even bothered to call, they had to cancel their tickets as the mother was flying to abroad for the first time, Arora said.
Air India responded to the X user, stating that it had executed a full refund as requested by the consumer.
“Dear Sir, please be assured that we never intend to disrupt our customers' travel plans and regret that this situation occurred. We have just spoken with the primary customer booked in the PNR and have processed a full refund as per their request,” the airline said.
After Air India’s reply, Arora said that the company had only apologized because he made the situation public.
