Air India has rolled out a new organisational structure for its non flying staff with new designations, work levels and roles that are seen as simplified, market-competitive and productivity-oriented. In April this year, a similar structure had been rolled out for the flying staff including pilots and cabin crew. The new structure is part of the company's ongoing efforts to transform the organisation by demolishing the previous ad hoc policies and promoting performance and productivity focused culture.
The.new structure has been shared it with employees in order to ensure clarity and transparency about their roles and responsibilities.Tata group had acquired Air India in January 2022. «With this move, the creating of a completely new organisational structure is complete and we have shared it in a transparent manner with all our employees to promote a fair and meritorious work culture. This will also be an organisation focused on consumer centricity.What was being driven by seniority or the number of years spent in service is now being driven by performance, responsibility, and accountability.

Air India also hired external consultants to seek their expertise in evaluating job processes and roles and ensuring that it is at par with industry standards. Almost, 30% of the total employee strength of around 15,000 are new hires in the last eighteen months.
