The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported the Archer Fire around 10:30 a.m. near the 17200 block of West Sesnon Boulevard. Initial reports estimated the fire to have burned 2 to 3 acres of land.

Authorities issued a mandatory evacuation order for areas west of Balboa Boulevard, east of Tampa Avenue, south of Sunshine Canyon Road, and north of Sesnon Boulevard. Residents in areas east of Tampa Avenue were advised to stay alert, as they were placed under an evacuation warning.
Sky5 footage captured the fire burning dangerously close to homes along Sesnon Boulevard. Officials warned residents in the vicinity to evacuate immediately, as the fire could potentially threaten nearby properties.
