Bafta 2024 is taking place today. British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards 2024 will be held at Royal Festival Hall in London.
TV presenters Alex Zane and Clara Amfo will host Bafta awards red carpet this year. David Tennant will be the host of the main event. While the red carpet began at 10 am (ET), 7 am (PT), the main event will commence at 2 pm (ET) and 11 am (PT).
For viewers in the US and Canada, Bafta 2024 will be streamed on Britbox with a 7-day free trial.
Oscars 2024 favourite 'Oppenheimer' leads the pack as the most nominated film at the BAFTAs, securing an impressive 13 nods, including recognition for Best Picture and Best Director for Christopher Nolan. Close on its heels is «Poor Things,» featuring Emma Stone in the lead, which garnered an impressive 11 nominations. «Barbie», the highest grossing film of 2023, has five nominations overall, including leading actress for Margot Robbie and supporting actor for Ryan Gosling.
The other contenders for best film include Emma Stone's sex-charged gothic comedy «Poor Things», «The Zone of Interest» — about the commandant of Auschwitz and his family living next to the death camp, Martin Scorsese's «Killers of the Flower Moon», about the murders of members of the Osage Nation in the 1920s, courtroom drama «Anatomy of a Fall» and «The Holdovers», a comedy set in a boys' boarding school.
