Tech companies in the US are avidly researching about AI agents that could be implemented into the working sectors, and improve robustness and efficiency in offices. However, there are certain fears that these AI agents could replace the human workforce, something that is already being observed in the case of Meta, when Mark Zuckerberg announced that he would be laying off mid-level Meta engineers and opting for AI agents instead for coding and automation.
According to an Axios report, Sam Altman will be interacting with government officials in Washington DC to discuss the progress of their agentic AI research, but the OpenAI CEO has also urged people to keep their expectations low for the time being, as these discussions are supposed to be very basic and entry-level.
