Athletes on the football pitch, soccer pitch, and even mixed martial arts octagon are now using President-elect Donald Trump's signature moves as a celebratory dance. Trump has a history of cutting rugs during the campaign.
Trump received a hero's welcome at Madison Square Garden on Saturday when he arrived from backstage like a heavyweight fighter to thunderous applause. Elon Musk, RFK Jr. and UFC CEO Dana White were among his entourage members.
Almost immediately after defeating opponent Stipe Miocic via knockout, Jon Jones celebrated his victory by joining Trump in his hip-swaying, fist-pumping dance. He then walked out of the ring and gave the president-elect his UFC Heavyweight Championship belt.
Since the election, professional and collegiate football players have also started using the unique dance moves, which have resulted in moments that go viral and are shared on social media millions of times.
