Focus Features has set a release date for Steven Soderbergh's upcoming film «Black Bag.» The spy drama, starring Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender, will open in theaters on March 14, 2025. Universal Pictures International will handle the international release, with Focus Features managing domestic distribution.
The cast of «Black Bag» includes several notable actors. Alongside Blanchett and Fassbender, the film features Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Tom Burke, and Pierce Brosnan. The screenplay is written by David Koepp, who previously collaborated with Soderbergh on «Kimi» and «Presence.» The film is produced by Casey Silver and Greg Jacobs.
Michael Fassbender has worked with Steven Soderbergh before, starring in the action movie «Haywire.» Cate Blanchett has also collaborated with Soderbergh, appearing in «The Good German» and «Ocean’s 8.» Blanchett, a two-time Oscar winner, is also starring in the upcoming video game adaptation «Borderlands,» set to open on August 9, 2024. Fassbender will appear in the Irish feature «Kneecap,» which premieres on August 2, 2024.
