NBA 2K25 will be available worldwide on September 6, 2024. This release date was confirmed by 2K on July 10, 2024. The early September release follows the pattern of previous NBA 2K games. For instance, NBA 2K24 was released on September 8, 2024. Those who pre-order NBA 2K25 can access the game early. Early access begins on September 4.

Cover Athletes
Celtics star Jayson Tatum will feature as the cover athlete for the standard edition of NBA 2K25. A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces will be on the cover of both the WNBA Edition and the All-Star Edition. The All-Star Edition will also feature Jayson Tatum. NBA legend Vince Carter will grace the cover of the NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame Edition. Carter is set to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in October 2024.
Platforms
NBA 2K25 will be available on multiple platforms. These include the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Owners of the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One will receive the old-gen edition of the game.
NBA 2K25 will be a next-gen game for PC. This includes features present in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S editions. PC users will have access to The City, MyNBA, and ProPlay.
