Madden 25 will be released worldwide on August 16, 2024. Players who purchase the special edition or the MVP Bundle for EA Sports College Football 25 can access the game three days early, starting August 13.
Christian McCaffrey, running back for the 49ers, will be the cover athlete for both the standard and deluxe editions of Madden 25. This was announced on June 11, 2024.

Madden 25 introduces several new features. The game will have a re-engineered physics system and updates to Franchise mode. New commentary and presentation enhancements are also included.
EA Sports expanded on these features on June 14, 2024. The game will include BoomTech, FieldSense upgrades with a timing-based mechanic for the hit stick, physics-based tackling, and a new ball carrier system. New archetypes and customization options return for Superstar Mode. Franchise Mode will feature a revised NFL Draft setup with commissioner Roger Goodell and new storylines through Franchise Central.

On July 23, 2024, developers discussed new gameplay changes. These include new abilities, hit stick modifications affecting power based on attack angle and timing, and improved athleticism and awareness for ball carriers.
The reveal trailer for Madden 25 was released by EA Sports on June 20, 2024.
