Modi alleged that Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has run a highly corrupt government in the last five years and his son acted as «super CM» who ran businesses that looted the state, leading to a situation where due to the anger of the people, the CM may find it difficult to even become an MLA.
Addressing a rally in Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, the prime minister said, «When the Congress government was formed, there was an agreement that there will be one CM for 2.5 years and then give place to the other (TS Singhdeo). But in the first half, the chief minister looted so much that when it came to change of CM, he paid off the leaders in Delhi and the agreement was set aside.
Every resident of Chhattisgarh believes that if there can be so much rift in the Congress then they will definitely betray the people.»
Modi charged that Baghel has operated through his son and a handful of bureaucrats to loot the state in the last five years.
«During the rule of this chief minister there has been a „Super CM“ and there are some favourite bureaucrats who have laid such atrocities on the people that has caused a lot of anger among the people. His son has acted as super CM and the business racket that he has run has led to a situation where it has become difficult for the CM to get elected as an MLA,» Modi said.
