Sony has decided to take its recently launched online shooter, Concord, offline. The game, which was released exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PC, faced challenges in attracting players. It led to this decision just two weeks after its launch.
Sony launched Concord, a multiplayer online shooter, on August 23, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PC. Despite the anticipation, the game struggled to capture a substantial player base. Sony announced that Concord would be taken offline on September 6. This decision was shared by Ryan Ellis, the game director at Firewalk Studios, through a blog post on Sony's website.

Concord, classified as a hero shooter, was expected to compete with popular titles like Overwatch and Valorant. In the game, players form teams with characters possessing unique abilities. However, the game faced difficulties in attracting players, with its highest concurrent users peaking at 660, as reported by SteamDB.
As part of the announcement, Ellis assured that those who purchased the game for £40 would receive full refunds. This decision was made while the development team evaluated the best course of action for the game’s future. The game was taken offline to allow the developers time to determine how to better reach their players in the future.
