Bhandari, in his post, shared an image of the menu from the hotel, where simple items like Dal Tadka were priced at Rs 650, Dal Makhani at Rs 750, and even a single piece of Gulab Jamun or Rasgulla at Rs 299. «When the menu doesn't match the prices on it! This is the menu of a hotel in Narkanda (2 hours from Shimla). Hotel & restaurant prices in India are going crazy, without matching international standards. No wonder tourists prefer travelling overseas,» Bhandari wrote, underlining his frustration with what he perceived as unreasonable pricing.
The revelation sparked a wave of criticism from netizens, who questioned the fairness of such pricing, especially in a hill station setting. A closer look at the menu shows that a simple plate of Pulao was priced at Rs 699, while dishes like Kadhai Paneer and Paneer Butter Masala were pegged at Rs 799. These high rates, particularly for basic comfort foods, left many astonished.
