As the water crisis deepens, police officials inspected the Jal Board pipelines in the Yamuna Khadar area of northeast Delhi on Sunday and confirmed there were no leaks. Assistant Sub-Inspector Lokendra Sirohi stated, «There is no leakage here. If there is any leakage, we will inform the Jal Board and our control room.»

Delhi Minister Atishi has written to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, urging the deployment of police personnel to protect major pipelines for the next 15 days. Atishi said, «The ground patrolling team found water supply pipelines were damaged in some places.» She added that the patrol team discovered a major leak in the main pipeline from the Sonia Vihar treatment plant to south Delhi, where several large bolts had been cut, indicating possible sabotage.
