BJP and Aam Aadmi party (AAP) over the Delhi water crisis continued on Monday. The AAP Delhi government has blamed the BJP-ruled Haryana for not releasing water into the national capital, while BJP leaders in Delhi have organised a protest across the city.
Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva along with party workers held a ‘matki phod’ demonstration in Krishna Nagar, while BJP MP Manoj Tiwai held a protest in Mukherjee Nagar.
«Delhi Jal Board is a department of Delhi government. What kind of Water Minister (of Delhi) is Atishi? Only to sell water to 'tanker mafias'? This is a very big question. That's why we are protesting with the people of Delhi,» said Tiwari.
Another BJP MP, Praveen Khandelwal, said, “Water issue is not new in Delhi. Every year during summer, water problem happens. I want to ask the Kejriwal-led government that if this happens every year, then what have they done to resolve it? The Kejriwal government is not interested in finding solutions. They want this problem to persist. They just want to do politics," at a protest site.
Congress holds 'Matka Phod' protest against water crisis in Delhi
On Sunday, BJP workers held a protest near the Delhi Water Board and vandalised the office to protest the water crisis in the national capital.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Sanjay Singh addressed a press conference. He said, “We believe, 'Pyase ko paani pilane se jyada punya ka kaam nahi hota', and there is no bigger sin than stopping water. I am saying there is a BJP-sponsored water crisis.”
