Diablo 4, or Diablo IV has been the talk of the town ever since its initial release, and now the game is fully releasing with its first season on July 20, titled “Season of the Malignant”. However, disappointing a large fan base – particularly those who prefer Xbox or PC, its maker Blizzard clarified that the game will never make it to Xbox or PC. Followingly, a Brazilian-payments app PICPAY announced that Diablo IV will soon be available on the service.
Blizzard Entertainment’s President Mike Ybarra replied to the claim via a tweet saying, “This is not happening.” The original tweet has been deleted now. Now, this statement might have put a period to all claims, but some fans believe that the game will come to Game Pass if Microsoft’s proposed $69 billion buyout of Activision Blizzard works. The ongoing dispute between Microsoft and the FTC over the Activision Blizzard acquisition has finally reached a resolution with Microsoft emerging as the victor.
Although the focus of contention has primarily been on Call of Duty, the inclusion of Diablo 4, one of Activision Blizzard's major titles, also adds significance to the deal. In a recent tweet, Xbox Boss Phil Spencer mentioned that they have entered into multiple agreements to make Blizzard's games available on Game Pass. While it remains uncertain if the Diablo franchise falls under these agreements, the likelihood of its inclusion is high.
