Bloomberg reported today that Deutsche Bank is granting staff who currently work from home (WFH) two days each week the option of working from home for an additional two whole weeks or two separate weeks every year. At the same time, Deutsche Bank employees who were working from home three days a week and who've gone down to two are being allowed to work from home for an extra 12 days during a transition period.
The changes were made to keep Deutsche's German staff happy after they complained about being driven back to the office. However, we understand that they won't just apply in Germany: Deutsche Bank's London, New York and APAC staff will get the two weeks or home working and extra 12 days at home too.
The only people at Deutsche whowon't be beneficiaries of the new leniency are in the front office. Salespeople and traders at the German bank are working in the office five days a week, as are many bankers. The extra work from home days won't apply to them.
