It was a nod to Charli's most recent album, Brat, which had dominated pop culture throughout the summer and was full of stories about a life spent getting messy on dance floors, drug references, and synth-pop hits, as quoted in a report by The Guardian.
The comparison to the then-59-year-old US vice president may not have been the most obvious, but the general idea was clear: Kamala was the most genuine and enthusiastic presidential candidate and the pop star of the time approved of him.

By altering the background of its official X page to the same bright green colour as the record sleeves, the Harris campaign capitalized on the endorsement. It made Harris stand out as a more dynamic and distinct candidate than her stumbling predecessor, Joe Biden, who was definitely not Brat despite his many other attributes.
