US President Donald Trump's second term, the National Park Service is reportedly planning to remove nearly 1,000 probationary employees who have been part of the US agency for less than a year.

However, it may reinstate around 5,000 seasonal job offers that were rescinded in January this year due to Trump’s federal hiring freeze, The Washington Post reported.
According to the report, these two moves highlight the «confusing» nature of the new US administration’s efforts to shrink the federal workforce.
Most trial and probationary staff across the federal government are under scrutiny, as the Trump administration has directed agency heads to terminate them.
Two people familiar with the matter claimed that National Park Service leaders briefed park superintendents on the staffing changes via calls on Thursday.
