Donald Trump: Shooting at Trump International Golf Course; Joe Biden, Kamala Harris informed
The shooting took place on the grounds of the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach on Sunday while 78-year-old former President Trump was at the course, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said, but officials said that Trump was safe and that the intent was unknown.
His campaign communications director Steven Cheung says Trump was safe. «President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity,» Cheung said in a statement. «No further details at this time.»
Teri Barbera, a spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, confirmed that a shooting took place «on the grounds» of the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach while Trump was present. A «person of interest» has been detained, she said.
«The intent right now is unknown,» Barbera added. A news conference was expected this afternoon.
