US President- elect Donald Trump has eventually reignited his controversial plan to acquire Greenland while now suggesting the possibility of using force to take control of the Nordic territory. According to The US Sun, during a recent press event, Donald Trump declared that US ownership of Greenland is an ‘absolute necessity’ for national security.

The Prime Minister of Greenland Mute Egede responded pretty firmly while stating that ‘Greenland is for the Greenlandic people. We do not want to be Danish, we do not want to be American. We want to be Greenlandic’, reported The US Sun. At the same time, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen similarly emphasized on the fact that ‘Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders’ and is not at all for sale.
The situation escalated with US President- elect Donald Trump's son named Donald Trump Jr. making an unofficial visit to Greenland which eventually fueled further speculations about the family's territorial intentions, asserted The US Sun. Donald Trump himself posted on social media while suggesting that Greenland would ‘benefit tremendously’ by becoming part of the US.
