President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown has devastated Selena Gomez. The 32-year-old Emilia Perez star posted a tearful video to her Instagram Story on Monday, January 27, along with the words «I'm sorry» and a Mexican flag emoji.
“The children, all of my people, are being attacked. I don't get it. I apologize; I wish I could do something, but I am unable to. I have no idea what to do. I swear, I'll try everything.” In the video, Gomez sobbed while she said this, as quoted in a report by People.
Gomez posted the following on another Instagram Story: «Apparently it's not ok to show empathy for people.»

The BBC reported that the «Good for You» singer's post was made just one day after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported that 956 people had been arrested in a nationwide immigration crackdown, the most since Trump returned to office.
