Eminem previously demanded that Vivek Ramaswamy stop using his music on the campaign trail, and the Republican presidential contender appeared to be willing to drop the matter.
Eminem has also threatened to sue Vivek Ramaswamy for the use of his song "Lose Yourself."
Eminem took issue with the usage of his music during Ramaswamy's campaign events, according to a cease-and-desist letter sent to Ramaswamy's lawyer on August 23, 2023. It came more than a week after Ramaswamy, a tech entrepreneur and political novice, impromptu performed Eminem's famous 2002 song «Lose Yourself» during a campaign stop during the Iowa State Fair.
BMI received a communication from Eminem, objecting to the Vivek Ramaswamy campaign's use of Eminem's song, stated the publisher in a letter.
According to the letter, «BMI will regard any performance of the Eminem Works by the Vivek 2024 campaign as a material breach of the Agreement for which BMI reserves all rights and remedies with respect thereto.»
When Ramaswamy learned about the letter, he appeared to mock the Grammy winner, 50, on his X page (formerly known as Twitter).
«Would The REAL Slim Shady Kindly Stand Up?» «Didn't he just say what I think he said?» He tweeted, copying the rapper's words from «The Real Slim Shady» and tagging Eminem with a sweaty grinning face emoji.
