Thomas Dohmke, CEO of Microsoft-owned developer platform GitHub, emphasised on India's rising significance in the global tech sector.
Speaking at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum, Dohmke highlighted the country’s potential to become a major hub for artificial intelligence (AI).
«What if AI isn’t just for tech experts but for everyone?» Dohmke asked. «Every company should become an AI company.»
He added that India is set to play a leading role, with a rapidly expanding population of software developers. This growth will contribute to shaping the digital infrastructure of the future and drive economic and technological progress, he said.
Dohmke also pointed out that while AI is still in its nascent stages, early adoption will be crucial for success. «Identifying productivity issues in your organisation is the first step,» he said. «Using technology just for its own sake is a waste of time and resources.»
Dohmke noted that AI could enable individuals across various sectors to work more effectively. «Successfully implementing AI will allow people to work at their own pace, regardless of their job role. This could lead to significant economic benefits for India, creating lasting global prosperity.»
