Cristiano Ronaldo has invested an unannounced amount of money in second luxury watch company Chrono24 GmBH. Its significance can be understood by the fact that the other known personal stakeholder is Louis Vuitton chairman Bernard Arnault. Chrono24 GmBH was valued at more than USD 1 billion in 2021 and it has more than 5,00,000 luxury watched for sale.
Confirming the investment made by the Portuguese footballer Chrono24 Co-Chief Executive Officer Tim Stracke said that he had made a ‘significant’ investment, but he did not specify the amount. Management consulting firm Deloitte has said that the market of second-hand luxury watches will expand by 75 percent and may reach USD 39.6 billion. Similarly, Swiss-based analysis and consulting firm LuxeConsult said that the sales of preowned luxury watches may overtake the sales of new watches.
Ronaldo too is a lover of luxury watches, and he has watches of Rolex to Jacob & Co, Girard-Perregaux and Franck Muller brands. It was an investment deal, not a marketing one and the Portuguese star player has not signed any endorsement deal with the company in which he has invested. Ronaldo at present plays for Saudi Professional League club Al Nasir, He holds the record for most appearances at 183, scoring most goals 140 and assisting inmost goals 42 in the Champions League.
He has scored 123 international goals in 200 international appearances. The Portuguese football star has won 32 trophies that include 5 UEFA Champions Leagues, UEFA Nations League, UEFA European Championship. He has been given Ballon d’Or award five times, and European Golden Shoe four times.
