This summer has been an excellent time for France in sports internationally, after a successful Euro 2024 run, followed by the organizing of the Paris Olympics, where the French are already winning accolades every other day and rising in the Paris Olympics medal tally. They are currently in the top-5 in the medals tally with 13 golds in their bag already, with some more medals to be expected in the remaining days of action.
Decision to tax bonus rewards a 'scandal'
Meanwhile, all these medals being won by French medalists, will come with a bonus reward from the government themselves, that amounts to 80,000 euros for gold, €40,000 for silver and €20,000 for bronze, which will be more than enough as a fitting reward to a French athlete for their service to their nation's name and fame.

However, the trivial issue that arises here is the decision to deduct taxes on these rewards, that are being provided to them by the government themselves. According to Olympic veterans, this is a clear case of a 'scandal', as the government is somehow pulling back the money being offered to the athletes.
