We spoke to Kirti Seth, CEO of IT/ITES Sector Skills Council, Nasscom, to understand how the skilling ecosystem is shaping up to meet this challenge. Apart from that, there are many government programmes for skilling, in the ITeS area. Today, there are also more collaborations among industry and the skilling ecosystems. One such skilling option is through the Future Skills Prime Platform, which outlines different pathways for job roles based on detailed competency frameworks.

Kriti says that while many young students are trying to find the best ways to build their skills, on the Future Skills Prime platform, they also find many mid-career professionals signing up to upskill. Industry certifications are also becoming a popular skilling tool as the guidelines in industry are changing. These are provided by the best-in-class companies in areas from cloud to security, and are often valued by people looking to join these jobs. Meanwhile, as an aggregator platform, Future Skills Prime also brings in training partners across regions, aligning with the National Skills Qualification Framework. Colleges are another key stakeholder where collaborations are emerging. With the dynamic shifts in technology, it is tough for all colleges to immediately align new curriculum in line with the rapidly evolving new technology areas.
