Dr. Heather Jarrell, the chief medical examiner, explained to The Independent that Hackman was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s disease, making it highly possible that he was unaware of his wife’s passing. “It’s quite possible that he was not aware that she was deceased,” she stated.
