The resolution professional of Go First is set to challenge a Delhi High Court order that restricts the airline from removing parts from planes, said people with knowledge of the matter. The order will make revival of the airline difficult, they said. Separately, the Go First resolution professional Thursday pleaded before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) not to extend the Delhi High Court order allowing eight lessors to inspect planes and carry out maintenance of the airline's aircraft.
Go First has been grounded since May 3. The order on parts will be restrictive, said one of the persons cited above. «In a commercial airline business, aircraft develop minor snags for which changing components becomes necessary,» the person said.
«The parts are taken from an aircraft which is not being used.» This is standard industry practice, he said, adding that written permission for every change is not feasible as such snags may develop even in between one of the multiple sectors that the airline is operating. «GoAir, its directors, employees, agents, officers and or representatives or the resolution professional or any person acting on their behalf, are hereby restrained from removing, replacing, taking out any accessories, parts, components or spares, etc. or any relevant operational or other manuals /records, documentation from any of the 30 aircraft, except with prior written approval of the lessor of such aircraft,» the court had said in its July 5 order.
