candidate at the time. The seeds of what would become Google were first planted during this fortuitous encounter.
A year later, the two pioneers teamed up and toiled away from their dorm rooms to build a search engine prototype.
Their efforts paid off when they caught the eye of influential investors in Silicon Valley. Google Inc.
was created in August 1998 when Andy Bechtolsheim, a co-founder of Sun Microsystems, sent Larry Page and Sergey Brin a check for $100,000. Their first office was a modest garage in Menlo Park, California, which they moved into as a result of this crucial investment.
Over the years, Google had nothing less than amazing expansion, which finally led to the establishment of its current headquarters in Mountain View, California, also known as the «Googleplex.»
