Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell will headline the new drama series Half Man. The series, co-produced by HBO and BBC, examines themes of family, identity and change over decades.
Richard Gadd, the Emmy-winning creator of Netflix’s Baby Reindeer, initially developed the series under the title Lions. BBC commissioned the series in February, and HBO joined as a co-producer in June. The project is now renamed Half Man, with Gadd also taking on a starring role alongside Jamie Bell.
The six-episode series follows Ruben and Niall, two estranged «brothers» played by Gadd and Bell. The narrative begins with a confrontation at Niall’s wedding and delves into their relationship over 40 years, reflecting personal growth and societal changes.
