Haryana yoga teacher murdered, buried alive over suspected affair
Jagdeep (45), a teacher at Baba Mastnath University in Rohtak, had been residing in rented accommodation in Janata Colony for the past three years. According to the police, the prime suspect, Rajkaran (40), believed Jagdeep was involved in an illicit relationship with his wife. After discovering a photo of his wife on Jagdeep's phone, Rajkaran allegedly plotted to kill him.
Jagdeep went missing on December 24, 2024. His uncle, Ishwar, a resident of Mandothi village in Jhajjar, reported him missing at Shivaji Colony police station on February 3. Despite extensive efforts by the family and police, no leads initially emerged.
The investigation started at the university, where police reviewed CCTV footage and interviewed colleagues, but Jagdeep’s location remained a mystery.
The breakthrough came from surveillance footage in and around Janata Colony. The footage revealed four men forcibly abducting Jagdeep from his rented home, tying his hands and feet, and loading him into a vehicle. Further analysis of mobile dump data pointed investigators to Pentaawas Kalan village in Charkhi Dadri.
Acting on this lead, police detained two suspects, Dharmpal and Hardeep. During questioning, the duo confessed to the kidnapping and murder.
The suspects confessed to taking Jagdeep to a secluded area in Paintawas Kalan, where they buried him alive in a deep pit. Acting on their admission, a police team led by ASP Shashi Shekhar, along with the CIA, FSL teams, and local police under the supervision of IPS officer Divyanshi Singla, reached the site to begin excavation in the presence of Jagdeep's family.
