These are the first shipments of servers made in India under Phase-II of the government's production-linked incentive scheme for IT hardware, HPE's India managing director Som Satsangi said.
The US-headquartered data storage and infrastructure services company, using its contract partner VVDN Technologies' surface mount technology, is doing nearly 80% value addition in India through PCB (printed circuit board) assembly, Satsangi said. «And these are the high-volume servers primarily being used in public sector and large telecom companies. Now we are also pushing them in the SMB (small and medium business) and mid-market segment in tier-2 and tier-3 cities,» he said.
