Idol's grand arrival at the temple
Wednesday evening witnessed a significant moment as the idol of Ram Lalla, crafted by Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, reached the newly constructed temple.
The 'shyamal' idol, weighing around 150kg, was carefully placed in the sanctum sanctorum with the assistance of a mobile crane. The sculptor himself, Arun Yogiraj, oversaw the meticulous installation, ensuring the idol's safe arrival and positioning.
Symbolic rituals and preparations
In the lead-up to this pivotal event, symbolic rituals were conducted using a silver idol as a representation of the original.
This symbolic idol was paraded around the temple complex on a palaki, allowing for smoother transportation. The complex rituals, set to continue until January 21, include prayers to Lord Ganpati and the initiation of sacred rituals to establish the idol as the permanent deity of the temple.
