His remarks came after external affairs minister S Jaishankar’s recent meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, where Jaishankar acknowledged the two countries' cooperation in multilateral forums, particularly the G20. Doval had visited China in December for talks between the Special Representatives after a five-year gap, followed by Misri’s visit, during which both sides agreed to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, trans-border river cooperation, and, in principle, direct air services.
