IndusInd Bank said to hire headhunter to find CEO, MD
IndusInd Bank, currently in the midst of a crisis stemming from accounting gaps in its derivatives books, is said to have engaged global executive search firm Egon Zehnder to assist in the search for a new managing director and chief executive officer, two officials in the know said. RBI has approved only a one-year term for incumbent Sumant Kathpalia as the chief executive.
Egon Zehnder will also help shortlist candidates for the deputy CEO position.
Bank's board plans to submit a list of 3 candidates to RBI before July. «Board of directors and promoters of IndusInd believe bringing in a new CEO and an entirely fresh management team will help mitigate negative fallout from RBI cutting the CEO's tenure short and the bank's disclosure of a loss in its derivatives portfolio,» an official said.
