Prime Minister Narendra Modi's presence in the temple town of Ayodhya was a reason for locals to celebrate, with the launch of projects worth Rs 15,000 crore causing much fanfare. One of the many people in the crowds was a former litigant in the Ayodhya land dispute case, Iqbal Ansari.
During a roadshow on the streets of Ayodhya, Ansari was seen showering flowers on the Prime Minister's motorcade.
Prime Minister Modi received a grand welcome in the city after he landed, with a large number of supporters cheering, waving and showering flowers at his motorcade.
Earlier this year, in October, Ansari emphasised that Ayodhya is a place of religious significance for Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians, where deities from across the country are venerated.
