Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) on Tuesday announced that it has entered into an alliance with Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) of Chandrashekhar Azad, its fourth ally since its inception in 2019. As per the agreement, JJP will contest on 70 seats while ASP (Kanshi Ram) on 20.
With Jats-Dalits voting as one block in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and their combined vote share accounting to more than 45%, all the main players in Haryana politics, including the Congress and Indian National Lok Dal, are looking to woo this section.
These two communities — Jats with 25% vote share and SCs with 21% — backed the Congress in 2024 polls and increased its tally from zero in the 2019 elections to five seats in 2024.
Abhay Chautala-led INLD has also announced its alliance with Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP).
