On Tuesday, October 1, Kelly Christopher Amos, John's son, verified that his father passed away on August 21st, several months prior. Amos, a former football player, enjoyed a successful five-decade acting career.
Kelly said in a statement that it is with heartfelt sadness that he shares that his father has transitioned. He was adored by people all throughout the world and had the sweetest, most precious heart, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. He is regarded by many as their TV father.
