Taking to social media, West defended Censori’s daring red carpet moment and doubled down on his admiration for her, dismissing public outrage as irrelevant. In true Kanye fashion, he also had a few choice words for those invoking his late mother, Donda West, in the debate.
Censori, 30, stole the spotlight at the February 2 Grammy Awards, arriving in a long black fur coat before dramatically dropping it to reveal an almost entirely sheer dress. The jaw-dropping moment instantly made her one of the “most Googled people on the planet.”
While some saw it as a bold fashion statement, others expressed concern that West, 47, had “forced” his wife into the controversial look. Social media erupted with speculation that Censori was being controlled, fueling ongoing debates about their relationship.
But West has had enough of the speculation. In a lengthy Twitter post, he fired back at critics, shutting down accusations of coercion and celebrating his wife’s boldness.
“My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world,” West wrote. “I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night. Thinking wow, I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart, talented, brave, and hot.”
