What Happened
Kohl's is responding to financial challenges by shutting 27 stores by April 2025. The company attributes this decision to these locations' underperformance, despite overall store profitability.
In addition to store closures, Kohl’s plans to close its e-commerce fulfillment center in San Bernardino, California, which has operated since 2010. The company will now use retail locations to handle online orders.

What about Employees?
Kohl's has informed employees at impacted locations. The company offers severance packages and opportunities to apply for positions at other Kohl's locations, a USA Today report said.
