Donald Trump made about immigration during Tuesday's debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.
The union said in a press release that his rhetoric on immigration unfairly targets immigrant communities, particularly Latinos, and misrepresents the facts while also inciting fear and division. During the debate, Trump said that immigrants are eating people's pets in American towns.

LULAC, which endorsed Harris on Monday, cited there is no truth to this statement. It is not only wholly unfounded, but it also represents a disgusting attempt to dehumanize immigrants by disseminating damaging and absurd falsehoods. Harris' commitment to delivering bipartisan immigration reform in Congress is encouraged, according to LULAC. They urged Vice President Harris to maintain her commitment to the critical goal of creating a more fair and humanitarian immigration system.
Shortly before the candidates squared off in their first presidential debate, a new poll by NPR, PBS News, and Marist revealed that Trump had surpassed Harris 51 percent to 47 percent of Latino voters. In the same voting group in August, Harris led the outgoing president by 15 points; this represents a 19-point shift.
