In the video, he said that much of the workforce will be replaced by artificial intelligence aka AI in the coming years.
Entrepreneur and angel investor Neal Taparia shared a video of Hoffman where he predicts that in the future, an employee may not have a stable job and may work in a gig economy — i.e. have a contract with multiple companies and work across various industries. He also added that while a gig economy will offer more flexibility and opportunities, it will also lack job security, something many employees crave.
Sharing the clip, Taparia wrote, “Your 9-to-5 job is dying. By 2034, it'll be extinct. That is Reid Hoffman's latest prediction – the founder of LinkedIn who predicted the rise of social media in 1997……Hoffman's past predictions are spooky:
