Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday reserved its order, denying immediate relief to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case.
Kejriwal was sent to a three-day CBI custody on Wednesday in connection to the liquor policy case. The CBI filed and application to send Kejriwal into judicial custody after his police custody period was over.
The court had allowed his wife Sunita Keriwal and his lawyers to meet him for 30 minutes everyday during the custody. The court also allowed them to carry his prescribed medicines and home-cooked food during the remand period.
He was produced before Special Judge Amitabh Rawat. During the proceedings, the CBI- represented by DP Singh- sought court's permission to interrogate Kejriwal in the adjoining room so that CBI can proceed with his formal arrest.
The CBI on Tuesday examined Kejriwal in Tihar Jail and recorded his statement related to the Excise Policy case.
Kejriwal has been jailed since March 21 in the money laundering case and is under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
On May 10, the Supreme Court had granted him interim bail for 21 days to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. He returned to prison on June 2.
