Director Kenji Kamiyama drew inspiration from J.R.R. Tolkien’s books «The Hobbit» and «The Lord of the Rings,» as well as Peter Jackson's films. Jackson and Fran Walsh are executive producers for the movie. Producers are Philippa Boyens, Jason DeMarco and Joseph Chou.
Storyline and Characters
The story is set 200 years before Bilbo Baggins discovers the ring. It centers on the House of Helm Hammerhand, King of Rohan, voiced by Brian Cox. The focus is on his daughter, Princess Héra, voiced by Gaia Wise. The clip showed a dispute during a council meeting, with Wulf, a Dunlending lord, seeking revenge. Miranda Otto reprises her role as Éowyn, serving as the movie’s narrator.
Filmmakers' Vision
DeMarco highlighted that the filmmakers aimed to create a Kamiyama movie with a stylish anime look, not an animated Peter Jackson movie. The unique vision was a key focus during the development of the film.
Release Date
«Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim» will be released in North America on December 13
