The Mahashivratri festival will be celebrated on the Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalguna, specifically on March 8, 2024. The Chaturdashi Tithi will begin at 9:57 PM on March 8 and end at 6:17 PM on March 9.
There are three types of fasts that can be observed to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva:
1. Nirjala Vrat: If you choose to observe the Nirjala Fast, it is important to note that you should refrain from consuming food or water throughout the fasting period. The fast begins at 12:00 AM on March 8 and ends at sunrise on March 9, 2024.
2. Phalahara Vrat: During this type of fasting, devotees can consume tea, water, coffee, coconut water, lassi, fruit juice, and dry fruits that are not salty.
